Citibank questions

I applied and was approved for the Disney Visa with a lousy $2500 CL. I still have not even gotten a chance to speak to someone about that, but that is besides the point.

I want a card that is going to have a much higher limit for emergenies. $2500 is not much of an emergency now -a-days.

I have done tons of searches, and for the most part I see people like Citibank. My wife had a card with them a while back and they were generous with the credit line. I also want someone who will pull Equifax, cause I only have 4 inquiries and my score is 731.

Problem is, I cannot find one Citibank card that has a FIXED rate. Are all Citi Cards variable? I have variable on the Disney and I kinda wanted a fixed APR on the other card. I only plan on having two. I see some people with fixed Citi APR's but that is only after having the card for a while.

Also, does the BDD still work? I am getting mixed signals from the threads I have searched and read.

    Thanks!

Have you tried BofA for a fixed rate?

    Do they pull Equifax?

I want someone that for sure will pull Equifax. I don't wany anymore inquiries on TU or EXP until I see if they are going to honor my request to have the inquiries for the same purpose pulls deleted.

    EQU score 731 INQ's 4
    TU score 689 INQ's 10 (4 by same company)
    EXP score 724 INQ's 15 (yeah 15, 9 by same company)

I just got that Disney Visa, they pulled TU, my worst report. Utilization is my problem. I only have $7500 in total credit, and $7200 is used. I did not know the loan I applied for was actually a credit card. It's one of those home improvement rip offs from Conseco. I wish I had known at the time.

All 3 FICO simulators have my score at 750 and above (EQU is 779) if I pay off the loan. I am about to re-fi next month so that will get taken care of.

Any advice on which card I should go for? Maybe I should try to hold out until after my reports are adjusted from the refi?

Are you refinancing a house? I would wait until after the reports reflect the refinance; this is critical because you WILL jeopardize the refi with unnecessary inquiries. Do NOT apply for credit going into a new home loan.

As far as where Citi pulls, you should check out PsychDoc's "Who pulled my Credit". Search for his name. The link is in his tagline.

Go for whatever card meets your needs. I personally like any card that offers 12-15 months of 0% interest.

I am re-fi'ing a house, but not worried about the effect one or two inquiries will have. There are already a ton of inquires, caused from me trying to get a good rate. Not sure how one or two more could do any more damage than is already done. I actually think a new account would help me cause the only thing negatively affecting my scores is the utilization because of the loan that turned out to be a credit card.

I tried the Citibank BDD, so we shall see.

Okay. But just so you know, there's a big difference between generating inquiries that are mortgage coded and generating inquries that are credit coded.

Lenders really do parse through these when deciding whether to approve.

also keep in mind new card accounts sometime will lower your scores by 10-30 points...

and sometimes they report before you even get the card..

such as one time when i did a citi bdd a few years back i new i was approved cause i checked my equifax report and low and behold two new citi acounts....

by the way i have worked citibank up to
    1 plat select 34500
    1 plat select div. 30500
    1 world plat 20500
via new application every 60 days...

those fico sims are horse crap...

my equifax fico when i had balances of 10k+ was over 750 now I am always in the mid 730s and all my balances are less than 3k...

what do you mean it didn't work for you, looks like you were approved both cards twice....they wouldn't combine or it was 2 inq each? So you applied for two citi products once and then applied for two more 60 days later? Good for you! What did you do to impress them? Charge and pay off or not use? Do tell!
