Hi, I have two citibanks accounts open since August. They both reported once in september, but have not posted anything for october or november. Anyone else have this problem? should I contact them? Thanks, -Roman
I have exactly the same situation but it is not only with Citibank. I opened my Citi accounts in July, reported in Sept but not since. Other accounts do the same. This is one of the factors that makes the scoring system wrong. If they are going to report, the FCRA should include language that they MUST update every month.
I have figured it out that Citi reports every 4 months. Last time they reorted for me was in September. Before that was in May.
That's interesting. I am waiting for my new card to arrive and I asked for a $4,000 balance transfer which will be in the form of a check made out to me. Will my card arrive with a $4,000 outstanding balance, or will they wait until I cash the check? If they wait, that means I can "hide" $4,000 in credit card debt for four months. That should be a real boost to my score for awhile.
I think it's posted when they send the check(because it deducts from your available line THEN),but you have a pretty good argument. When I was severanced from my former employer in 98,I took my 401k in a lump sum payment. But I did not cash the check because I wanted it to not REPORT for that year. I waited 1 month until the year rolled over & called Smith Barney to tell them "I've not received my check".It seemed possible due to holiday mail,& the lady I spoke with said "she would stop pymt & reissue the check,& send me a corrected 1099". Worked for me.... Sister Girl
