Up until August or so, Citi was reproting monthly to the CRA's. Then they went to the every four month routine. They should have reported by now (its been over four months) but have not. When I call and ask, they only say its every three or four months. I made a big payment on my Citi and would like to see it reported. Is anyone else having this problem? Any clue as to when they will report? They said they cannot do a special request (i.e. report it at my request). It has to be at their regular time. Thanks
Isn't that funny--just two weeks ago I called Citibank about this same problem--the balance on my VISA was reporting about $1K higher than it actually was. The rep seemed to be really thrown by my asking how often they report, and told me it was every month. It was finally updated recently, but I sure would like to know what the real answer is, since we're getting different info.
My citibank accounts are updated everymonth... It may be very likely that the CRA that is not updating.. dispute the balances... Kev
I PFB'ed them about this issue last month. Got a call from their executive office, they also sounded amazed that this was happening. They claimed that they are reporting monthly, so I told them I'd wait a month and see. They have reported once since, so maybe the problem is solved... From what I was told, they report on the last day of the month for the previous month, so expect a 1-2 month delay in reporting to reflect your actual situation.
Hey roman, question for ya--how long after you sent your PFB letter to Citi did they respond? I'm awaiting their response on a separate issue I wrote them about on 12/28. kustomkat--As far as disputing the balance with the CRAs goes, I am leery of doing that because they have been known to just delete the entire tradeline. This account is my oldest trade (almost 5 years), so my scores would seriously tank if it disappeared. But, if the problem persists, I may try that and just keep really good records! Thanks for the tip.
I took them about a week, so I wouldn't give up hope quite yet. They should learn a thing or two from cap1 (miller, cooke) about replying quickly, but the exec. rep. was very friendly and helpful. -Roman
I spoke with the rep. She said they are only reporting every three to four months. Said they would report this month, but it should have been done by now. They have not reported since about September 1. All my other cards report monthly on a regular basis. I really don't want to dispute. It takes too long and it gives the CRA's something else to screw up. I just untangled a mess with Experian where they merged my report with two other people. It took three months.
I have two Citis. On Experian the last update was 09/2001. That's 4 months ago!!. Equifax 11/2001 and Transunion 10/2001
Citibank hasn't updated my report since 9/2001. Amex's updates are also unusually late: Last update on 11/2001 (for one card) and on 10/2001 (for another). Saar
I got two new Citi accounts in November. One is reporting on all reports but one still hasn't shown up anywhere.
Dave: I'm curious. I have the Platinum Citi card with a $15,000 limit. I will apply for the citi silver AA and the gold AA as soon as they report my new total on the Platinum. What new cards did you get in November? Which one is reporting and which one is not? The reason I am asking is this: I assume they will all report at the same time. If so, I want to wait for the Platinum to report this month before applying for the other two in the hope that none will report again unti May.
