Citibank Secured Credit Card

I know that washington Mutal has a secured card issue by Citibank.

 

Do you know if this credit card ultimately enables one to upgrade to other Citi cards?

 

Yes, Citi offers a secured card but I do not recomend it to you:

-It does not report to any credit bureau.
-No credit line increase until it becomes
unsecure (18 months).

Hmmm I called my local Citibank and they told me that did not offer a secured card? They also told me that they would not accept a CD or savings account as collateral for a secured loan? Maybe I received wrong info?

Anybody else have any info on Citibank and if the provide secured cards or loans?

The secured card is actually offered through Washington Mutual, but Citibank is the issuer. Here is the link for more information.

Instead of Citibank I would recommend one of the following secured cards:

Wells Fargo
Bank of America
US Bank
Bank One
Chase


In the past I have had atleast 2 of the above, I would think they still have this program.

I am not sure about that. I think you should call washington mutual and ask.
