My CLOSED WAL*MART CHASE card was the one that they tacked the FAKE 30 DAY LATE on...

Even more reason to stay with my (very high limit) Wal*Mart store card.

Now you're making me want to go shopping, just talking about it. I think I'll get out of here soon and head to Wal*Mart.

I had a $10K limit with Wards, so it was converted to a Wal*Mart card with a $10K limit (actually, I think it's $9999). I figured they don't go higher than that, so I haven't thought much about it. I've never gotten an increase.

Of course, if I ever spent $10K at Wal*Mart in a month or ran up a $10K bill, I'd REALLY be in trouble. Not that I don't like Wal*Mart, I just can't imagine needing that much "stuff."

Yes, don't let them tell you it's impossible.

When we went to the credit union for our car loan last year, the loan officer pulled our credit report. She saw the Wal*Mart account and asked why anyone would need a $10K limit at Wal*Mart. (She was just curious--said she never saw that before). I told her it was converted from Wards, and that's what we had there. Of course, we had $10K at Wards because we bought all of our appliances there, as well as a lot of significant car repairs.

Tell her as long as you're current with your payments, don't worry about why you need such limits.

She was just incredulous that anyone would have $10K with Wal*Mart. Said she'd never seen it before. It was more of a "WOW--how can you do that" type question than a smart alec question. So I didn't mind telling her. I think it's kind of neat, myself.

The last time I "VERBALLY" asked for a limit increase on WAL*MART store card...the guy said "YOU HAVE A CREDIT LIMIT OF $X,XXX I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYBODY THAT HIGH"

It was only $2,000+ at the time...now over $3,000 but not $9,999

F.Y.I.---buy GIFT CARDS for WAL*MART/SAMS on the card when they have 0.00% OFFERS...should be one coming up soon (CHRISTMAS)...usually MUST SPEND >$250 ON ONE SALE...so if you want to...buy some extra GIFT CARDS for later use...or give them for GIFTS...

I LOVE THEM...I CAN GIVE THEM TO THE KIDS AND THEY CAN SHOP FOR ME...NO ID REQUIRED!!!

I also can use the GIFT CARD for like $2.18 when I don't want to charge it...AND I DON'T HAVE TO CARRY ANY CASH...IT IS BETTER THAN CASH!!!

Great idea! I don't carry a lot of cash, and I've used my Wal*Mart card to buy batteries for a few dollars. Usually, I go in for something like a battery and come out with $50 worth of stuff.

I must have missed some opportunities last month, my bill was only $74. But I'm doing better this month, just charged like $150 worth of stuff when I went in for two little things!!

Just got an automatic $800 increase (now within $700 of the Crap 1 card in my freezer)...three months since the last increase, and I tried it a couple of times during this past month (got "the form" previously) so that factor didn't seem to have any influence on it.
