Besides the former BDD, is there any non-credit card ways to increase your Platinum Select credit limit by applying of another product and transferring the credit line. Something like the Gold Reservce LOC for MBNA to increase Platinum Plus or Quantum credit card limits. Thanks in advance!
jaj1701, They increased my credit limit for my Citibank cards every 3 months-4 months without pulling hard inquiry and the amount of the each increase depends on your paymen history and the account history. The amount of the limit increase from $500 to $2000??? (Max. I think). I think that they have LOC (ReadyCredit) and it is for their Citibank Checking customers. Ron.
Hey Ron, Thanks for the reply. Do you know if the credit line for the LOC can be transferred to a card account? I used to have a citibank checking account with a LOC. I may open again IF the LOC CL can be transferred.
I asked for CL increase and they pulled a HARD inq. which they won't remove. I got the increase ($3000) though but I'm mad about the inq.
jaj1701, I don't know the Ready Credit can be converted to the card account. You may have to check with them. I used to have checking with Citibank(MD) long time ago and I forgot that they could do it. Why don't you apply for the Citibank Card account for saving the trouble? Ron.
Mist, Every 3 months I logged on the Citibank accountonline and I checked whether I qualify for the increase without hard inquiry. If they system came back and it said:- Congratulations!!! Your credit line can be immediately increased by $ XXXX for a total new creit line of $ XXXX. During the evaluation process, a credit bureau report was not pulled. If you see the message, you qualify for the increase without hard inquiry If you don't see that, you need to fill out income and employment. They will pull credit from credit bureau. In my own experience they denied me most of the time. Ron.
