Before going to bed I decided to pay on my gold card, to my surprise there was a message stating my card was being upgraded to the world platinum select card, ( this offer I have declined 3 times) and now they took it upon themselves to upgrade me and charge me a higher annual fee and not report my limits, I am pissed and that is an understatement. I tried to pay on line after I cleared up the steam on the screen that was coming from me ears and guess what I couldn' t pay it while it was being upgraded. I am going to call them ASAP, how the hell can they do this ?????????
TELL THEM NO WORLD CARD!!!! Make them increase your credit limit $10,000 (if you want it) for the hassle...WITH-OUT A CREDIT REPORT...AND GIVE YOU A BALANCE TRANSFER @ 0.00% FOR 12 MONTHS!!!! THAT WILL TEACH THEM?!?!?!?
That's right mom. I agree with George. Fight and ask for compensation for your grief. BTW, I finally got my computer station together...with help of course. Good luck girl!
update Ok now I am really pissed off. I called last night to find out a) why I was upgraded to the worldcard and b) why I couldn't pay online. The rep stated my account HAD already been upgraded and I couldn't pay online due to the transfer of the accounts, but to call back in 4 days and they would take by phone. I explained I never upgraded HE stated I was already upgraded, tired and mad I went to bed. I called back this morning and explained again to rep what happened, she ask if I was sure I hadn't applied for upgrade I said Yes I was sure I hadn't, she then stated on the screen that I had talked to rep and this was accepted on Aug 26 ( last night when I called they came up with this as an agreement???) I also agreed to an APR increase LOL and a 99.oo GC, I said NO WAY IN HELL. I am then transferred to supervisor who says all she can do is apologize and convert me back to gold card and give me 5000 miles for my troubles. I said okay and then asked about my payment which is due next Tuesday, the whole reason I found out about this whole mess, she claims I can't pay online or by phone and it would be best to just mail it, grrrrrr. So off the post office I go and if they dare charge me a late fee I will go nuts and now I have to wait to get first card destroy that then get another goldcard.
Re: update Yikes and just after you talked me into Citibank They wouldn't dare charge you a late fee, but if they do, you should be able to get the charge removed because of the hassles you are going through. Hope everything works out Mom, let us know. -Peace, Dave

Re: update thanks nana, I will keep you posted. I would expect that they won't charge a late fee and hope it gets there on time. Funny I haven't mailed out payments in a long time, I had to hunt for the return envelope so I could mail it LOL.

I simply have to wait till things get better. In the past I've yelled and gotten nasty with people that brag about their prime cards here. I have WORKED for 23 years for my PERFECT credit...I GET TICKED OFF when I am denied better credit cards, higher limits, lower interest rates... Until F.I.C.O., I was NEVER denied any card. I HAD WAY OVER $100,000...BUT BECAUSE OF F.I.C.O. I HAVE TO CUT WAY BACK... H/H INCOME IS 3+ TIMES HIGHER NOW...
