Remember, I posted earlier this week that I had applied for a citibank gold card and received a letter requesting a copy of my phone bill and verification of employment. I faxed over the information and called this morning to verify that it had been received and they told me that the copy of my phone bill was not acceptable because the name, address and telephone number does not appear all on one page. I explained to the representative that the only portion of the phone bill where my name and address is, is located on the back of the remittance, which is what I sent them. I then told her that I had the same address for seven years and the same job for seven years, there were no other addresses or jobs listed on my credit report and I didn't understand the problem. She said that without a phone bill with my name, address and telephone number all on one page, at the top, they would not process my application any further. Has anyone ever heard anything like this before? Advice please.
yes, definately try another Rep. I don't think the one you spoke to knows what he/she is talking about. Or obviously doesn't pay bills. )
Re: lol! I actually spoke to a supervisor. No, I didn't think of using photoshop, I am trying to go about this in an honest manner. I have nothing to hide. I know that I can go and recreate a document, but why should I have to go through all of that when I am telling the truth?
Re: lol! Whats dishonest about that? Did they specifically state you could not print your phone # near your address? Maybe you can go to the telephone company and have an official letterhead created for you. Whatever makes you happy. We weren't asking you to make up something that isn't true Just reorganize the information to fit their formatting needs
address/phone# JUST F.Y.I. MY ADDRRESS ONLY APPEARS ON THE BACK SIDE OF THE PAYMENT COUPON...AND THE PHONE NUMBER AND AMOUNT DUE IS ON THE OTHER SIDE... If you really want the card, ask the phone company to fax CITIBANK proof...it will be faster...or talk to somebody else that has a BRAIN...
Re: address/phone# Does your local phone company provide the bills over its web site? Here in Atlanta I can go to Bellsouth site and see my entire bill online. Just print it out and send it.
