I recently applied for the CitiBank Platinum Select card for college students. Does anyone know if it is difficult to obtain credit from CitiBank? I have a flawless - albeit short (6 mo.) - credit history, with other credit lines being reported (another unsecured credit card, retail card, and installment loan). I've heard that it's simple to qualify for a card as a college student, but I worry that I may be declined due to "excessive inquiries in a short time frame." I have 4 on Experian, 4 on Equifax, and 9 or 10 on TransUnion. Tell me what you think.

I had excessive inquiries within a short amount of time and still qualified for a Citibanks Platinum ($5000.00 limit).

Citibank tries to make it extremely easy for college students to get credit cards. if you have a good payment history on you other cards you shouldnt have a problem. and htey wouldnt decline any applications for just that reason alone. they must have at least 3 reasons to decline anybody
