CITIBANK SIGNS CARD-ISSUING AGREEMENT WITH CONOCOPHILLIPS Citi Commerce Solutions, Citibankâ??s private-label credit card division, today announced that it has signed a long-term agreement to issue a private-label credit card for ConocoPhillips, the nationâ??s third-largest integrated energy company. Citi Commerce Solutions, which is based in Deerfield, IL, will begin in June issuing the card for ConocoPhillips, which was created from the merger of the Phillips 66, Conoco and Union 76 oil and gas companies, a ConocoPhillips spokesperson tells CardLine. ConocoPhillips had issued its private-label card internally prior to signing an agreement with Citi Commerce Solutions. The agreement enhances ConocoPhillipsâ?? existing relationship with Citibank. Citibank currently issues the Conoco MasterCard and Phillips 66 MasterCard. Union 76 had offered an oil card through an arrangement with processor First Data Resources, a unit of First Data Corp., according to the spokesperson. ConocoPhillips eventually plans to replace the three cards with one card that will be accepted by the three brands. The companies have more than 17,000 service stations. Citibank is a unit of Citigroup Inc.
