I thought I'd share a conversation I had with a mortgage representative today at CitiFinancial Mortgage. I called to inquire into a possible refinance for my fiance and me. We purchased a house August 02 and have since used this site to clean up our credit reports. My scores have gone from mid-high 500's to mid-high 600's. Onto the point... We are currently at 8.86%. We purchased the house with no money down. The representative, who was VERY informative, explained to me their refinance rates are SOLEY score driven. She listed out scores necessary for their different rates (based on no PMI): 710+ A+ 6.7% 680+ A 7.2% 650+ A- 7.7% 610+ B 8.2% I didn't take it any further than that, but thought I'd share this info for anyone interested. gilmores34
My opinion and experiance with citifinancial mortgage is run don't walk away from them as fast as you can. They tried very hard to foreclose on my house and only by a good attorney did I save it. they are crooked, and also dont post payments, they "LOST" more than one certified check even after they were sent CMRRR. rep always told me sending it is not enough "you have to prove we got it and cashed it". unless I could prove it had been cashed my account was late, jumping through hoops to get certified funds reissued took a lot of work and time, Maybe I had bad luck but they dont get sued as much as they do for nothing. 710+ gets the best rate of 6.7 according to her. Now remember, this is a refinance. I didn't ask her if buying a home meant different rates. So far, we've had no trouble with them at all. The tradeline is updated monthly and their customer service has been very good. Just us though, I'm sure there are others with differing opinions. gilmores
