Hmmm.. looks like citi usa is pulling a capital one, by not reporting credit limits. I just got two cards and neither of them list the limitson my experian report. One lists the high balance as my credit limit though, while the other just has a whole lotta NA's.

I'm just always amazed that the credit bureaus don't hold creditors to a higher standard, because by not reporting they are taking advantage of other creditors who do.

CitibankUSA report the credit limit my NetscapeCard to all 3 credit bureaus NOT my Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card. They reported it as open account and the highest amount of amount owed.

If the card description says that you do not have a limit - like the world card - then no limit is reported. That's why I won't get one.

What kind of cards are they?

One of the cards is the travelocity, the other the HHonors

The Hhonors Signature doesn't report the limit, as you are allowed to exceed your revolving line (to a point), and this does hurt your utilization.

On the other hand, the card is reported as an "O" - or open - account and that is a nice way to supplement a credit mix. The only other open accounts I'm aware of come with an annual fee, but the Citi USA Hilton Sig. does not.

I wish I had read this board more carefully before
I applied for the World AA card. I really think that
not reporting limits is shady. Also, mine does not report as open, but revolving. I suppose 99% of
all Citi's customers are unaware of the impact of carrying a balance on a card like that, so Citi gets
away with it. I just pay mine off every month BEFORE
it cycles. But it irks me.

I like Citibank a lot. I just wish that the CC companies would stop being so devious in their methods to sabotage our scores.

If someone doesn't know "the game" it is so easy to end up with less points than one deserves.

That's why so many people on this board (like me!)
have raised their scores so significantly in such a short time. Not because they changed dramatically. Just because they understand how the system works.

    Calypso,

I converted mine to the Platinum Select. They tried to get me to keep the World AA but I refused.

It's funny Love. I had a Plat Select already. Citi has always treated me well. I have just become sort of obsessed with miles lately and the 7500 bonus on their website intrigued me. My friend who had one mistakenly told me that they had started reporting his cl, so I went ahead and took the leap.

Later he said "ooops." It hasn't seemed to hurt
my score since I have been paying it off before it
cycles. I haven't tested a limit yet, and am afraid to
since Citi is so inconsistent with reporting.

(Why is it that my 2 favorite cards Citi and Amex are
the slackest with reporting?? All I want is for my cc
    to report my balance monthly)
