Lets just say I know someone who is Canadian. They are a permanent resident in the US.

The Canadian Credit is pretty much flawless. (everything will be dropping off in the next 6 months so it would be starting out fresh)

Lets say the person living in the US has about 75k in debt from student loans, creditcards, ect.

Here is the question- What would happen if the person was to just leave the states, move back to Canada and start life all over? This of course is drastic, but it beats waiting 7 yrs for the stuff to come off.

Any ideas on the legal ramifications of this? Could they haunt this person in another country?

citizehship has nothing to do with CR.

when I clicked reply to your post, INS ad came up, did you customise it yourself or creditnet did it?

no idea what you are talking about.

Here's the thing, this person has a social security number in the states, and a social insurance number in Canada ->> will the debt follow him to Canada if he were to just pick up and leave? Hypothetically speaking of course...

Debt collectors and "skip tracers" can track someone down, it is not that hard to have a foreign judgment enforced especially one for thousands of dollars
