I am not sure if you've already emailed me, as I don't know the alias to the real name of most people I've talked with, but feel free to drop me a line. I am going after these people.
Although have the same or similiar thing on my report, it's not truly a correlation. I need to find a website, SEC report or factual finding that lists Sherman Acquisition or their parent corp, Alegis as an affiliate or subsidiary of OSI or vice versa. BTW, that's why Gulfstate and Perimeter are not on that website. OSI already is. OSI also does their own collections and is a multi tier'd company with many different names. I don't know if Alegis is/does.
we got it: Corroboration between OSI and Sherman Financial Group. http://www.shermfin.com/release1.htm "Additionally, Sherman Financial Group has an agreement with Outsourcing Solutions Inc. (OSI), the nation's largest receivables management firm, under which OSI provides receivables and collection services and Sherman provides marketing services. The joint venture has a capital base of approximately $44 million, with Enhance Group and MGIC each committing $20 million, and Sherman management's contribution valued at about $4 million. Enhance Group and MGIC each own 45.5 percent of the joint venture, with the remaining 9 percent owned by management." On top of everything else, MGIC is part of a consortium that owns one of the 3 CRA's!
I just got a Sherman Acquisition, LP on my credit report. Anyone have any luck getting these deleted? They aged the account to 120 days past due with a last activity of 3/2002. I haven't had ANY credit for the last 5 years EXCEPT for 2 credit cards. I have no clue where this is coming from??????????????? Any help?
E-mail grendel for the specifics about the lawyer In the meantime, dispute the entry with the CRA's. Chances are, if it's like everyone else's entry, it's for an AT&T Broadband or a Sprint LD account.
I thought this very interesting. OSI's got more personalities than a schizophrenic. http://www.atlanta.bbb.org/common.h.../mis67/report.php&bureau=atlanta&compid=10127 ...and BTW, here's Sherman's entry into the books: http://worf.usshurdman.com/~hous/co.../mis67/report.php&bureau=hous&compid=50001350
Yep. That's the short list, too. Should take a look at the parent corps' listing! BTW, Sherman and OSI are affiliated.
Perimeter put a totally bogus collection account on my credit report. It took 3 letters and 3 months to get it removed. During that time, I was denied an auto loan. I have all of this EXTREMELY well documented. However, I don't live in California. Can I still get in on the class action?
For those looking for more class members--I just found a site (ripoffreport.com) with 15 complaints against an OSI/Gulf State company, Palisade Collections. Apparently, these people had AT&T accounts erroneously inserted on their credit reports by Palisades. They are clamoring to join a class action.
You bet. I don't live in California either. I got in touch with this attorney group who is also putting together a class action: http://www.edcombs.com/FSL5CS/Custom/TOCSpecial.asp
I found a couple more interesting sites...hope I do this right and it is of value!! http://www.collectionssource1.com/demo/debt_buyers_and_sellers/debt_buyers/ http://www.creditcollectionsworld.com/rank_topdebt.htm http://www.rcap.com/history.asp Just shows more of what we already know!!
I think the OSI class action is dead in the water...have heard nothing about it in weeks. I beat OSI,Gulfstate/Sherman. When I receive the letter in the mail and it is off my reports I will share who I spoke with and what I did to get it removed!
Actually, it's moving fairly well. All three attornies are in investigation mode right now, trying to determine jurisdiction and valid material to hammer them with.
grendel, turn on your email or send one to me. I didn't have this specific problem with GulfState/OSI/Sherman/etc. But I had others. I'd be happy to share them with you if you need it for your case.
Glad to hear it is not dead...after the last e-mail that said that attorney was not going to take it there was no further communication through the Yahoo board.
