Is there a specific letter or process to get an item cloaked or suppressed? Does the item have to be re-inserted before cloaking or suppression is done??
I have posted the only letter I found on this board and the link to it below. The item is supposed to be cloaked, suppressed, etc when they first delete the tradeline. The letter is just a reminder to get them to do what they shoud have already done. Link to Javan's letter Dear Equifax, Iâ??m writing this letter to inform you that the current credit profile that youâ??re reporting for me is incorrect. Itâ??s also old and outdated. As you probably receive millions of request and concerns about incorrect information, Iâ??ve also included your file numbers that reference to this incorrect data. In January I called and informed you of this exact thing, which was corrected. The problem involves youâ??re reporting an old credit file that includes accounts thatâ??ve been removed by you. Please look at the most current file youâ??ve sent me â??Credit File Conf# . All my reports in January, February, and March reflect the correct file with an exception to some satisfactory accounts being deleted. Iâ??ve included the file numbers/Confirmation numbers to support my claim. The following reports show the correct file Conf# dated . Conf# dated , Conf# dated , and Conf # dated . Please take a look at the â??Date Reportedâ? on the most current report file Conf# dated , and youâ??ll notice these dates are old reporting dates (98, 99, and 2000). When you compare this reports to the reports I mentioned above youâ??ll see that these reports have the â??accurateâ? up to date reporting dates, which are 2002 and late 2001 â??Date Reportingâ?, and donâ??t show the accounts which youâ??ve removed. Itâ??s pretty discouraging to see that youâ??ve â??Reinsertedâ? the accounts without notifying me within the 5 days supported by law, and you also totally show old date reporting for the entire file, which even include accounts youâ??ve recently reported with accurate 2002 dates. Iâ??m going to request you correct my current file to reflect the correct dates reported and remove all the accounts that were previously removed by you, from our previous disputes. Iâ??m going to circle the accounts that shouldnâ??t be reporting as evident by your previous reporting. You can verify this with the included reports Iâ??ve attached. Itâ??s also apparent that these accounts keep coming back, so I ask that you permanently â??suppressâ? these in order for them not to reappear. Equifax more importantly you canâ??t â??Re-investigateâ? these accounts as theyâ??ve already been investigated and deleted before, which fully comply with the FCRA.
Any time you dispute an item, and they accept your dispute, the item is supressed. That means that creditors shouldn't see those items when they pull your credit (until the investigation's completed.) Any dispute will get you the supression.
Why they show up is a good question?? However, I had spoke with a Credit Counselor once before. I was inquiring about credit repair (before I started my journey and gained my knowledge) he stated that "Yes, the credit repair companies work but, that information can or will reinserted after the 30 days is up." That is true and false because if the item is verifed yes it will be continued to be reported if not it wil be deleted. Just my 2 pennies.
Love, I should have done some research sorry about that I did not know that letter was for cloaking or suppression. sorryyyyyyyyyyy
