    I filed CH7 & was discharged 1/03.

i puled my credit bureaus & found that 3 cards that I had zero balances on have been closed out & are noted as included in bankruptcy. I am disputing this fact since i obviously did not include a balance that did not exist.
My questios are.. can they just close out my accounts without even notifying me tht it was done? I never received a letter from any company & the only way they knew I had filed was because a carrd I filed against was through the same bank,

Also I have a few accounts that were closed years ago & they said that I requested to close them but they also say, included in BK,, of course this is all with the same bank as above.

I am going to dispute all this but has any one heardof this being done before & what were your experiences?thanks !!

I'll try to help a little here. Maybe they can close these accounts because they found out about BK and decided independently that they didn't want you to have them anymore. I'm not sure there's a law against acting that way on information they receive as affiliates, assuming that's what these are.

Assuming the accounts they closed were always paid on time, the best thing I can think of is if you can good will them into taking the IIB notation off of them, they make good positive history for your file and a valuable contribution to your good credit recovery process.

Maybe you could even talk them into re-opening one and use it prudently to help in the recovery process ?

    Anyways, bump.
