Well I was going to hold on to my Associates til it hit 2 year mark, but several other cards will hit closely when that one would so I decided to cancel it. The of course sent me to retention and he asked if owering my rate would convince me to keep it, I said NO the limit is extremely low compared to all my others cards and I was not interested, he said okay your account is closed. I held strong and did what I planned to doBy the way the rate reduction was a joke, it was 24% they would drop it to 21%, big deal. mom
Mom, don't take for granted being transfered to Retention. Before Citibank bought the Associates, they didn't even have a Retention department. Even if you were their most profitable customer, they'd still let you go w/o hesitation. Saar
APPLAUSE - PAT ON THE BACK We gain control one by one - what a faaaaaab interest reduction. Sorry - a bit of that San Fran sarcasm came through Its these stupid POWER BROWNOUTS! For the last week, they broadcast at work - going into a power alert in 5 minutes. Then you send the stupid, incomplete, vitally urgent email - just to get it sent B4 a shutdown. It really adds a new dimension to living in CA. An eery surreal dimension. ANYWAY - cya and congrats. Dog of course
It's good you closed the account, but personally I was just as interested in the retention experience. Thanks for sharing that one with us. And congratulations on taking action.
