My mortgage was recently refinanced. The previous mortgage is still showing as open on my equifax report, which makes it look as if I have 2 mortgages. This account is not showing up on my experian at all. should I leave it like that.

you can easily get that taken care of, by proving to the bureau that everything was paid in full at the time of close.

to do this get a copy of your HUD-1 and mail that along with a letter stating that the account was paid in full.

depending on the time frame you might also want to look on the bureay to see when the date of last activity was on the mortgage.

But what i want to know is should I just leave it alone. Does having both on ther improve my score?

Is there a balance showing, or balance of -0-?

Is it a GOOD rating, or a badie?

By the way. Not at all necessary to send your HUD1 to CRA. Just dispute the balance, if you decide to. It's get fixed right up.

Of course it could just be that it's so recent that the old OC hasn't updated just yet. Hold onto your hat. They likely will soon (I'd think).

by the time that you contact the bureau and they contact the creditor, they will have already updated the bureau. I am guessing that they just have not reported it since it was so soon.

It will not have a negative impact on your credit bureau as this is a common occurence in the mortgage industry.

This happened to me as well. I dispute the balance and it was reported as closed and in good standing.

I think I did lose some points and it has taken my new lender 5 months to start reporting.

    Best regards,
