From what I understand, it is a small negative toward your score when an account is labeled 'Closed at credit grantors request'. I have several of these, they were closed b/c I was using profina for a while, but haven't been with them for almost a year now. All the accounts labeled this way are tradlined as 'Pays as agreed' and 'Never late', so besides being closed, the accounts are in good standing. Should I try to get them reopened and then close them myself to get a 'Closed at consumers request'? Or should I try to reopen them and just not use them...they are not accounts I want to use. Thanks for any advice.

Have them recoded..."ACCOUNT CLOSED BY CONSUMER"

The worst thing that will happen is that they will DISAPPEAR...
They MAY do what you want...
They MAY not change it...(if they don't change it...wait a couple of months and try again)

IF I just call and say can you change my tradeline to 'closed by consumer', I have a feeling they'll laugh at me. Any advice for going about this? Thanks
