I am planning a close a CC account with CapOne that I've had for about a year and a half and which I don't really need/use. Now, since I only have two CL's listed on my credit report and having "2 or more" CL's is mentioned as one of my "positive factors" on the credit report, my question is whether you can see any negative consequences of my closing that account. My goal is to have a decent credit score in the future, but I don't really use the card. Any input and/or links to relevant discussions in the past would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! mkxt
Most veterans here would say to "sock drawer" the card. Keep it and use it occasionally for a tankfull of gas, and pay it off each month, then keep it in the sock drawer the rest of the time

A* cuts average of accounts. B*Increases utilization a double whammy as both factors are score killers .
