I have a couple co's showing and they are reporting a payment and a balance.
I thought a co isn't suppose to show these? How do you get them to change or hopefully delete it?

They will show the balance you owe, and they may show the payment terms. Paying it usually will get it to change.

They would show a $0 balance if the account was sold, but they would still show the amount that had been charged off.

I have found that paying does you no good unless they will send a letter to delete. A CO should have the balance, but no way should it show a payment because there is no payment due actually... correct? On even has an amount past due, cannot be past due if it is sold or charged off.

So how do you challenge this with a bureau if an original Creditor is reporting a charged off amount, a past due amount and current balance?

It seems to me that if the account has been charged off that the creditor can not should not be able to report it as a balance due?

I'm really confused on this issue. Capital One is doing this to me and it's trashing my credit score.

Well, it is trashing your score. But if capital one still owns the account then they can still report a balance due. If they own it then you still owe them. If they sold the account to a collection agency then cap one would report balance due $0

If the account is assigned then cap one can still report the balance due as they still own it.
