What is it with American Express. Long long ago - in a galaxy far, far away, American Express use to be a company that had good customer service standards and procedures. During the last 7 years or so they have become lost in space. Are their customer service personnel actually from the planet Saturn or located on Pluto? Their customer service personnel tell you different things depending on the day of the week and probably their astrological sign. But, I vent and digress . . . After sending a DNA sample to get the Cobalt Card, it still will not fund with my Visa debit card from Bank of America (BOA is another space odyssy story) After 5 calls to their customer service number and countless e-mails to Linda Hall in customer service it still won't fund - although they keep saying it will (I've sent screen shots of the error messages) I've tried funding with another card where the address of record for the card and the address of record for Cobalt are the same. Finally decided to give up and not call Robert Stack about this unsolved mystery. Anyone else fair better?
I don't have this card, so no problems here. BUT I did find your post mildly entertaining. Especially that Robert Stack reference.
Wow!! That's incredible. Perhaps a Planet Feedback letter would help? Or have you tried that already? Today, I have tried every hour on the hour, and can't fund mine - when I called, they said they were having a problem with their WATTS lines. An inconvenience. They said they would call me back - I've had two "out of area" calls but I get telemarketed so much that I won't answer - they'll have to leave a message, LOL.
I tried forever to put a 2nd credit card on my cobalt card. I kept getting an error message. I finally deleted the first one and it took it. Do you already have a credit card on there? If so, you might want to delete it and see if it will take your B of A one.
Dont' delete anything!!! I tried to change and it would not let me add anything new!! Got a message they are limiting the number of cards you can use to fund it. Doh. I had 4 registered, now I have 3.
Ooohh, sorry for giving that bad advice. I tried it out myself (prior to reading not to) and of course it still would not let me add a card. Although it said the card I deleted had successfully been deleted, it is still there. It will not let me add any funds though. Crap!!!!
I was approved on October 2 and still have not be able to fund my card. I am getting the same run around as you are. I was told by one of the customer reps that the card was discontinued as of October 20. I too ask Linda Hall to check into this and have not heard back. Good Luck, You guys.
