I just had a recent collection come off my report. The original account was outside the 7 year reporting period and Experian "graciously" removed it after a dispute. The result? a 6 point FICO drop. What sort of mathematical predictive model would decrease your creditworthiness when a "recent collection account" is removed? The formula is seriously flawed.
Perhaps Boy, but when you have a 7 yr old account removed, then your score my suffer a little because of the age of the account if it was one of your oldest, but it is better for it to be gone.
That's just it. Age of account could not be a factor because the CA had reaged it to last years date. Technically I lost one of my newest tradelines and 1 of my 2 derogs. Most of my TL's are well over a year old.
