This new account just showed up. Had direct tv and decided i didnt need it anymore. thought bill was paid but received a bill in feb for 110.00 was short in feb so i sent like 30.00 and would pay the remainder in march. pulled credit report and those bastards sent me to collections. What do i do know???? HELP PLEASE.. Direct tv only sent me or i received only one bill in feb and the collection guy said im responsible even if they dont bill me?? what an *******. the amount is wrong i only owe 80.00
Send them validation immediately! Don't deal with these idiots on the phone ever again....validation, estoppell (cc: AG, FTC and BBB), demand/intent to sue! Let's see if they fight you after all of this!
I'm experiencing the same thing with IC System. After they violated the FDCPA on three separate occasions, I happily sent the estoppel letter yesterday. They've got about 15 days left. I agree with monij...send a validation letter now.
