    Hi everyone,
I have an active collection on my Equifax from an agency in Florida. The amount is small, about $100 however I did send a validation letter CRRR and have the green card back. I received a certified letter from this "agency" several days later that included a cover letter stating the time period for validation is long over and they were doing me a favor by including a copy of the charges and also included (2) pages of some FDCPA stuff.
    (1) There was no copy of the billing in the envelope!
    (2) They stated they would be happy to notify Eq. once I pay the bill.
(3)Are they playing some game, we sent you a copy and you didn't answer?

What would my next move be?

Thank you in advance for any words of wisdom.

I agree send the estoppel or intent to sue for continuing collection activity without validating. Nowhere does it say you have to validate within a certain period of time, or lose your right to request it. Their letter telling you they will update once you pay, in the same envelope as their attempt to validate is violation #1.
#2 - did they mark your acct as in dispute with the cra's? I doubt it. Pull your reports and keep copies so you can prove it.

Send your letter. Give them 15 days to correct this or you will file suit. But, if you are not ready to follow thru, don't do it.

    What the estoppel letter? Yes.

Why do you believe the PO is involved?

Would you send it also CRRR?
If so, I believe the post office is definitely involved in collection practices.
