I received a collection letter from a law firm in Marietta, GA yesterday indicating that they represent FIA Card Services, N.A.

I am sending out Validation Letter #1 and I'm wondering should I include language requesting proof that they are licensed in my state to actually collect the debt or just go with the normal validation request?

    Thanks!

I'm of the opinion that the first "DV" letter should be short:

I dispute this debt in its entirety and request validation of this debt pursuant to the FDCPA, 15 USC 1692g.

Anything else is a waste of breath, will be ignored, and just makes you look like someone who gets all their advice off the internet.
