I've sent a cease and desist letter, which they go more than 30 days ago (CRRR), but have not heard back from them. I have some questions, and need help in dealing with them. 1.Does a collection agency have to respond by letter or another way back to the consumer after he/she has notified them to cease collection activity? 2.Once notification has been made to cease collection activity, can the collection agency continue to report negative info to the credit reporting agency? 3.After the consumer has notified the collection agency to cease communications, and then disputed the accounts on their credit report: if the collection agency has verified the accounts, are they breaking the law? I'd like to sue, do I have grounds?
