Should I send the Ca a validation letter if it is after the original 30 day period? I have a Ca from 11/00 on my credit and I dont know if I should just dispute it with the CRA's or should I just send the validation letter? I need some help, any comments or advice would be greatly appreciated. FYI on my credit report it says that the account is open when it has been closed since 11/99 actually.

I fail to see why you would bother with sending demand for validation now. It has to come off your credit reports in 7 years from chargeoff and you say it was closed in 11/99 so it should die of old age. Just dispute it with the credit bureaus as out of stat and see what happens.

Just to reiterate, the account was reported on 12/06 , date reported 04/06 but the dla is 11/00, so of course they are trying to keep it on eventhough it is almost due to come off. I will just dispute it with the CRAs though, thanks so much. Also they are reporting it as open eventhough this has been closed since 99. Thank you again, any more insight is definitely appreciated.

I wouldn't do anything unless you're prepared to pay or the debt is past SOL
