    Hey,
My mom paid an account with an original lender. Around the same time she paid it was turned over to collections. She sent the collections people a letter saying she paid the account. They sent a letter back with a copy of a form bearing her signature that says if the account is turned over to collections she will pay a certain fee on top of the original balance to the collections company. Whats the deal with this? Can it be argued, fought, ignored?

First, did she actually sign it?
