I have to pay off 2 accounts that have been charged off to bad debt. Should I send the money to the collection agency or to the original creditor? Any help is appreciated.

Never deal with a collector (unless they bought the debt) Write a cease and desist letter and try to negotiate with the original creditor. You have much more leverage with the original creidtor and most collectors are (*%)*&$%*$$ heads. (Think for a minute with an unemployment rate of 4% what kind of personality would be a bill collector) Good luck

Also, don't ask the collection agency if they purchased the debt. Contact the original creditor to find out.

Find out who is reporting on your credit report and talk to them.
