I posted this yesterday with not much response...let me try again...

In Dec I received a collection letter from a local CA that claimed I owed $16. I do not believe I owe it and sent a validation letter certified with a return receipt. I received the green card back.

Never heard a peep outta them.

Next thing I know (just a week or so ago) I got a derog on my EXP causing my score to drop 50 points!!! I suppose the others CRA will follow with derogs also.

I know this is a violation of the Fair Credit Laws. They have some other paid derogs on my file that they also refuse to remove.

I also am concerned about my credit cards upping the rates when they pull an AR.

What procedure should I take to put some pink paper on their desk!?

Since they are local to me, I think I can get them into court.

    Thanks!

Let's see - $1000 damages dor 50 point drop in FICO is $20 a point. Not a bad trade. Sue 'em.
