Never include your SSN in the dispute to a CA!!!
Never include your DL in the dispute to a CA!!!
Never include your PAY CHECK STUB in the dispute to a CA!!!

P/L does not affect whether or not the debt is valid. Neither does 'forgiving' the debt as income (the next step above P/L).

Writing off the debt to P/L is a standard accounting process, the debt is still owed.

The only time the debt is a credit on their tax, is when they FORGIVE the debt, then they get a credit, and the debt is income paid to you.

There is no requirement that the validation be notarized, nor is there a time limit for them to provide validation. Also, if they can prove that they communicated with you previously, there could be no requirement that they provide any validation to you at all.

The debt can be reported for 7 years, not 6 1/2 years; from the date that the account was charged off. This date is typically not shown in CA listings. You need to study the CA listing closely.

Whether they forgive the debt or not, it is written off. Either way, writing off debt is an accounting and tax recognition by a business that they are unlikely to receive payment.

Keep it short, address any specific issues, otherwise keep it general.

Leave off any personal ID info (SSN, DL, DOB, etc.).

They should be able to find (and remove) their own account on your credit reports if you provide them what they are reporting, along with your name and address. That is all they needed to put it there.
