I have a collection account on my transunion report only, what are my chances of having them remove it entirely from my report if i pay it, and what steps should i take to do it? thank you

Right. So you sent validation to the CA, and they sent you back the original contract? No payment history?

Who is the CA? and what is it for, if you don't mind me asking.

    Sorry, bopping in and out...

If you want it off quickly, and you don't want to go thru the whole validation process, and you are not worried that it is probably past your state's SOL, (you would need to check to be sure), then the best thing to do is send them a settlement letter. If you do a search on here, I just posted one in a thread a couple of days ago.

Don't do anything over the phone, and don't send any money until you have everything agreed in writing.

BBauer will probably pop in and recommend the westcap endorsement, but I don't have any personal experience with it.

What matters is the date the debt went deliquent. Sounds like it is over the 7 years.
