Should collection accounts that are on a person current credit report show late dates? If it is collection from 99 should it show all the late dates?

I hope what Im asking is clear.

Ok let me try to be a bit more clear. If an account is in collection from say 1999, should it show any late pays you may have or should it not show any lates.

Im thinking if they show late dates that says the account is open and in turn would skew any score that may be using this info.

Am I right or just not understanding the scoring formula?

If its the OC reporting their original account, and you had late payments prior to it being charged-off/sent to collections, I don't see why they wouldn't/couldn't report the previous late pays.

Now, if it's the OC's, and they have sold the account, but they are still reporting it as currently 120 days past due (for example), then they are probably in the wrong.
