Okay, I had an outstanding bill at Grad School that I was disputing. They sent it to collections and I paid it. I disputed the collections on my credit report, because I wasn't given opportunity to dispute it with them before they put it on all three credit files. Experian came back and said it was verified. I tried another tactic. I called the collections agency, only to find out that they notified the big three in april to remove this item because my graduate school had canceled the collections accounts! Needless to say, I am ticked off, because the CRAs are consistently lying about investigating disputed items. Luckily, I have a very good lawyer who fired off three letters to each CRA yesterday. Wish me luck. With this taken off my reports. My credit scores should skyrocket.
