    Hi,
    I paid off a past credit debt to a collections agency in November. The balance was $7,000.00 and I paid $3000.00, and was told they would remove (-) tradeline. It has been 3 months and still showing on credit report. I don't have it in writing(slap I know. I'll learn the hard way) but I do have the womans name who I dealt with.
    I also have MUCH information of illegalities there company used in collecting the debt. (called at work many times after receiving power of attny letter and after I instructed them not to) Told my boss they wer garnishing my wages and that hte papers were inthe mail, told me they had a lawyer and permission to garnish my wages, etc, etc, etc.
    Should I try sending them a letter first demanding they remove it and see if that works.
    and then send them one demanding or ELSE if it doesn't work the first time? ANy advice of what kind of letter to write would be helpful. thank you in advance

    i would talk to the person you made the agreement with about the deletion.

    i'd be careful "forcing" them into deletion, because they may not delete since there is no agreement.

    hello and thank you.
    Do you know(or anyone else) if the collections agencies have the power to delete a (-) tradeline or if it can only be done by the original bank/crad issuer?
    thank you .

    ====================
    When we (Re CA) make the purchase or servicing transaction, we receive a power of attorney that gives us the inherit rights under the original cardholder agreement. We have the ability to "bind" the original creditor in certain situations. This gives us the right to settle an account and REQUIRE that the original creditor, such as Citibank, MBNA, Household etc. remove the original trade line and OURS.

    Some one was asiking a while back about getting the oc to delete in addition to The CA.
    Don't know who the poster was or on what thread they posted but here is your answer!!
