I'd like to hear from people who have had medical collection, or whatever collection account and then had them completely removed from their CR. What happened to your score? I'm just trying to get an idea of what a 3500 and 135 dollars collection, once removed, how it might effect my score. I've agrred w/ the OC for complete removal Thanks for eveyones input and all is appreciated.
How old are the collections? If less than 2 years old, you should receive a significant boost. The older a collection becomes, the less it will impact your scores. It also matters how many negatives are on your report as to how much it will increase your score. Make sure you have the agreement to delete IN WRITING! Gib
Depends...I had a total of 12 derogs removed from one credit report, and 13 from another...some of which were collections. I did not notice huge jumps in my score until the last two came off. Each of those were worth around 40-50 points. Christi said that her experience as well, was that the last one or two really have an impact on your score. L
They are about a year old. I have a few other derogs, a couple 30 days and I believe one 60 day late. I've already drawn up the agreement and they are willing to sign for payment.
Are these your last derogatory accounts? I just had 2 medical collection accounts that were from 1996 removed, and my score jumped 71 points. They were the last derog's on my report. But they also had an effect in that I would always get turn downs with the reason being collection accounts. My experience is that many companies(especially credit card companies) are reluctant to extend credit to anybody that has collection accounts. So they had an effect besides my score.
Yes, these are the last derogs on the account. I'm paying both off today with agreement for deletion w/i 5 days. I'll post hos much my score goes up when they are deleted.
My experience with collections and scores includes a deletion of two account which were duplicates. The original and the collection were deleted together and the point increase was +111. They were the last two negatives on the report dating back to 1995 and 1996.
