Hi, I did as newbies are instructed and searched around first, but i couldn't find this particular problem addressed so here goes... I recently signed up for a credit monitoring service that sends updates whenever any changes have posted to my report. Just yesterday, I received TWO alerts that public record items had been added to my Experian report (my score is pretty low right now but one of my saving graces was that i had zero public record items). So i go check and sure enough, 2 of the 6 or 7 collection accounts i have on my report have been added to the public record section, with recent "filing" dates (i assumed the filing date was the date a suit was filed....neither of these agencies has filed suit) and the name of the agency appearing under the "Court" heading. My questions are: 1) are these allowed to go there? i thought only bankruptcies, judgments, liens, etc. were considered public records. 2) if i dispute and have the collections deleted, will they automatically "fall off' the public record section? 3) if i can't have them deleted, could i still prevent the CRA from listing them under this section? Any and all advice will be much appreciated...thanks!
I've never seen a CA report in the Public Record section (and I do have both). You are correct that Public Records are only items that go through the court house. So I have to ask. Are you SURE that there are no public records? Wouldn't hurt to contact your court house and see if they have anything, but you just haven't been served yet. In my state, they can "serve" you by leaving your summons with someone (adult-like) at the address where they believe you reside. I don't know about you, but in my mind this doesn't guarantee that the ex, or a kid, or someone doesn't just ignore handing you the summons. It's best to check. Just my thoughts...

Without a judgment what is there to report? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~` It sure would help if folks were a little more specific about the details of their situation. It sure would be a lot easier to offer appropriate suggestions if we knew or had some idea of what the HECK was going on.
