If an account went to collection, and I dispute it, does the dispute go to the collection agency, or the orginal creditor?

It goes to whomever is reporting the collection.

If you're talking about a dispute with the CRA's, then it will go to the original creditor and then be sent to the collection agency in most cases. Then again if you were disputing a trade line that was actually placed on your reports by the collection company, then it would go directly to the collection company first.
