Can you call the "REGULAR" customer service number and combine 2 accounts (limits) and close one...WITH-OUT ANY HASSLE???

I think you can. I called last week for a rate reduction and they offered to do that. It was the only way I could get a rate reduction.

I didnt take it as I have 3 accounts and they want to get rid of subprime, at least that is my guess. If I combined them and they are tight on limit increases, 3 accounts each getting $200 is better than one. Besides I've pain my annual fees so i will just wait till a year is up.

I was able to combine a classic with a gold account with regular customer service - as for the "hassle" issue it took me 3 phone calls to do it because the 1st one said they don't do that (I knew that was wrong), the 2nd said I had to have both accounts unsecured (what?!?), and finally the 3rd one said sure no problem since I've had both accounts for over 6 months.

Thats what they told me, both have to be open for 6 months.

I'd still use the Exec office. Call up and see if you can get 1k increase per card...

then combine them into the oldest card and if you don't already have 8.9 fixed, get that .

I'd call today as it seems in August Cap1's getting even more conservative.. .who knows if it'll affect the exec office but it might.
