    Yes, you can "re-allocate" a credit line from Blue to Optima and vice versa.

    Call New Accounts. 1-800-the-card, press to check on status of an application. Then press appropriate prompts to get to customer service. That customer service dept. is New Accounts.

    I found out that using the card is considered "activity" and will keep the account active, I got an email address for a guy who is a CSR exec for starwood(from flyertalk.com) and he emailed me back immediately telling me that using the card is enough to count as activity and keep the account alive.:) So yup I am keeping it, and reallocating my credit line from my blue to my starwood card. Do I have to wait to recieve my new card before I can re-allocate my accounts. Also, GEORGE, is this the thing you had a big problem with amex with, the re-allocating of accounts? If so, any tips?

    DELTA SPIN-OFF $5,000 FROM BLUE

    NOW~~~DELTA $14,500

    me too which is why I looked for info on it so much, seems like one of the greatest deals out there for rewards, BVG, airline miles, and for only 30 a year, it is a great deal. He said that as long as you earn points they have to have somewhere to go so that will keep your account open, you just can't raise your status to gold or platinum without staying at a starwood properties x number times in a year.

    "I got an email address for a guy who is a CSR exec for starwood(from flyertalk.com)"

    You're talking about Starwood Lurker, of course, as much of a resource at flyertalk as the ubiquitous Mr. Cooke is here.

    Why don't more companies wise up and dedicate someone (smart and competent as these 2 are) to mediate with the online public, answer questions and resolve conflicts???

    Such a great idea (IMHO)

    I used STEVEN COOKE---->AMEX EXECUTIVE OFFICES...FOR REAL, NOT JUST IN BRENDA'S IMMAGINATION!!!

    FROM--->http://frequentflier.com/forum/index.cgi

    STARWOOD LURKER might be able to help also...

    I EVEN WAS THE "SUBJECT" OF A PFB LETTER TO WAL*MART!!!

    I 100 million% agree with you, he was so helpful and so great in helping me figure out my starwood dilemma.

    Lurker is not only smart and capable, he also has a great sense of humor. (and a bit of a (endearing) wise-guy streak)

    Perhaps most importantly, he has "juice."
