Combining 3 accounts into 1

I've seen numerous posts where folks talk about combing three Cap One accounts into one,

So how does that show up on the CR? 2 closed accounts?
Does the high balances show a combination of accounts?
Does the account now assume the age of the oldest open account?

I have been thinking of asking to get accounts combined, but I would like to get a better idea of what affect that would have on my CR.

    2 closed 1 open...

The one that is open will state what ever your HIGH BALANCE WAS...on "THAT" CARD...not all 3 combined together...

We did 2 of hers into 1...then later our 2 into 1 "JOINT"

    • In addition, the ones you close will be shown as "paid off, $0 balance, closed by consumer" - an account in good standing forever ... :)

Can someone verify that is the case with Cap.1?

I am going to call and combine when my newest cap1 hits 24 months.

    • You gotta search the board ... I saw a post recently about someone done that with his three Cap One cards. I've done it with Citibank and Chase.

    My oversight. Sorry 'bout that.
