As a result of the Bank One--Chase merger (if it goes through) I hope I can combine my Bank One Visa ($14,500 Limit) with my Chase Perfectcard ($13,000 limit) to have only the Chase PerfectCard (Mastercard) for a combined limit of $27,500. Chase said this will probably be ok, once the merger goes through. The question is: Are two credit cards, with two separate limits better on your credit score than one MasterCard with a large limit made up of the smaller two limits? Or does it make a difference? The Chase card has a better reward program than the Bank One Visa, so as long as the merger goes through, I see no reason not to combine them. Is there a reason?
IT MAY or MAY NOT be good to combine the cards...I'M GONNA DO IT ON MY BANK ONE CARDS THOUGH BEFORE CHASE TAKES OVER... 4 INTO 1 "JOINT" (BANK ONE) THEN 2 INTO 1 "JOINT" WITH CHASE I "THINK" BANK ONE 3 MINE BANK ONE 1 HERS CHASE 1 HERS "IF" one card gives you a GREAT BT RATE...the other card might not... I had a BETTER OFFER on AMEX BLUE # 2 THAN I DID WITH AMEX BLUE # 1
