I've got both the hhonors hilton and the travelocity card from citiusa. I called a few days ago to combine the credit limits into one card and they put in the request. Now each time i call back I get a different story and this last time the supervisor claims the request was denied and that they quit consolidating credit lines back in january. What do you guys think has anyone combined recently, or do I just have to talk to retention to get what I want?

I combined citiusa cards, but it was back in August/September. It took a long time for them to do it.

I combined two in Feb. No problem, it took one day.

Or could it be I'm having a problem because of the particular cards im combining? They were trying to tell me they were completely different accounts (I asked how they were then able to pull up both accounts info from the same computer). Me thinks I might try retention....

Well, retention was no help, any suggestions, have they actually changed their policy??

Write a letter via Planetfeedback--helped me back in Dec. when I was told that I could not convert my Gold (after combining silver and gold obtained thru back door double) to a Platinum. Had received a call from Citi offices in South Dakota within 24 hours.

    Good luck!

If your credit limits are high enough you might try calling again, picking one of the cards and saying "I'd like to convert my XXXXX account to a Platinum Select, can you handle that for me?"

Once you have it, then it might be easier to combine the other card into the Platinum Select line and close out the other card.

Sometimes with Citi it takes doing things in steps. Also, if the rep you're talking with doesn't seem to know what to do just thank him/her, hang up and then call back and try another one.

We had a couple of reps when we combined the AA Silver and Gold in Feb and converted to the Platinum that knew less than we did about how the system worked. We just called back in a few minutes and got aother rep.

The only thing I don't know is what the minimum CL is for the Platinum Select.

    All the best!

    Cariba,

He is talking about citiusa, not citibank s.d.

I'm not sure what to suggest, though as Cariba stated, maybe planet feedback? I don't know how citi usa is about responding.

Did you try talking to supervisors?

    INTER-DIVISIONAL combining is VERY HARD...

It has been stated that it WON'T happen...

They will get the "DIVISIONS" combined totally in a couple of years or less...then you can COMBINE AND APPLY AT YOUR HEARTS CONTENT...(so I was told).

Oops, well I wasn't any help at all.

Sorry, didn't realize they weren't the same.

This is too funny, I finally got this resolved...even talked to retention at travelocity and no dice. Anyways on a whim I called the people at the Hilton HHonors and they were able to combine the accounts for me! I guess travelocity just doesn't have their $@%# together!

its the number on the back of the card which is...1.866.517.7795. It would probably work if you are having probs combining other accounts.
