Well folks...I'm winding down to the last month of getting my scores higher before I start my official mortgage process (before it's completed being built in September or so) and I want to push them as high as I can get. Here's the skinny - my EXP is about 600, EQ - 625 and TU, at least 622 (not sure, though). I have a few cards that have high ratios - Providian MC 75% utilized, Providian Visa, 99% utilized (due to their CL decrease), Circuit City, 60% utilized and my CapOne MC - 100% utilized (but you all know how CapOne reports!). My negatives are as follows: EQ - One collection (that I have disputed and while in dispute, my score did not change. In addition, I have sent all the letters to the CA and they won't budge). One acct - with a 30 day late EXP - One foreclosure, one collection, one charge off, 8 other accts reporting 30 or 90 day lates. TU - Two charge offs, two collections, a few late accounts, one foreclosure Now, I don't really have the cash to pay down the balances - not enough to really make a difference. I'm going to send letters to the original creditors on EXP who are reporting me as late, as well as the charge offs. I have a paid collection that is due to fall off early next year (I've written them and they will not respond, so I'm sending my documentation to EXP and TU to have it deleted). Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get a 10-15 point score boost? My EQ score went from 611 to 625 last month...nothing changed (besides balances of course)...so I'm hoping for a point boost in July also. However, being at 640 would surely help my case. Thanks in advance for the help! SweetnSas bka Shantel
Hi There.... Sounds like you are definitely on your way. Thought I'd give this post a boost and ask a question. What CA is this that won't budge and have they properly validated. My guess is that if you get them off your reports, your score will be much higher.
Thanks rblues - it's Arrow Financial. They are no longer on EX or TU (TU deleted last month) but keeps coming back verified with EQ. As far as proper validation - no, they haven't given it to me. They say I owe them $532 but when I ask for validation, they send a bill from the OC that is addressed to someone with my name but bearing an address that does not exist. I called them two months or so ago and the stupid manager tells me as far as they are concerned, its valid because that's what the OC sent them. The CSR told me prior to transferring me to the mgr that they wouldn't get anything else from the OC. I *didn't* want to file on them. I have a folder 2 inches thick on letters I wrote them. Even sent a settlement letter - they'll take my money but won't delete. They haven't sent me any breakdown of fees - nothing - even though I started this with them in November of LAST YEAR.
