Here is the scoop. I checked my report yesterday are 2 new listings. Both from a collection agency. My cable company has switched hands about 5 times since 97. I have always paid my cable bills, but for some reason they are trying to screw me. I called to see what is going on, thinking for sure the was a
mistake. I told them I didn't owe it and to send
me a verification, she said they won't do that and
    to pay up. Ileagal aye?

These are both from 97 and I did not pay with checks I did money orders back then. There is no way for me to contact the company because like I said they are long gone. What do I do?

Send a validation letter then later an estoppel letter. It can set you up to not only get rid of the debt but also get it off your reports.

I hate these types of debts. They use your good credit report to try and blackmail you to pay something you likely don't even owe.
