I do not normally voice any complaints about the way this board is run, however, I am concerned about a recent thread; http://consumers.creditnet.com/straighttalk/board/showthread.php?s=&goto=newpost&threadid=44042 Mr. Bauer has apparently confused me with the manager/owner of cardreport who runs several websites from her location in Australia. Since I am certainly not in Australia, and since I operate on Webtv, which has no way of hosting any website, or even accessing much of the formatted materials on the internet, (no adobe, no pdf etc.) I considered his allegations of my being a lesbian child molester rather a tasteless joke. However, it occurred to me that the actual host and owner of the cardreport website might take notice of this vilification and file appropriate charges against creditnet for allowing this to remain on their website. Mr. Bauer is upset with me because I refused him permission to link to my website, which is a webtv lowtech non commercial site.I understand his desperate need for self promotion and making a profit, however I would hate to see creditnet destroyed by his actions.
Why Chat: It does appear that bbauer has confused you with someone who runs another web site. The offending messages were removed and the other member notified. I also removed your initiating comment which disparaged him as well. Criticism of other credit-related products and services, including even this web site, are certainly allowed. However, given that the whole crux of bbauer's arguments in that thread seemed to be based upon the faulty premise that you somehow are personally responsible for that site, these messages violated our Terms of Service regarding "Member Conduct." It is hoped that these remarks were indeed the accidental result of mistaken identity rather than a purposeful personal attack. Irrespective of intent, THANK YOU for bringing this to my attention. Please use the "Alert" button if this happens again, a circumstance that will certainly be met with a stronger response. CCN steve
One-month followup: I have not received any communication from the other site's webmaster, but I hope this issue was resolved and hasn't repeated itself since regardless.
