I sent the letter from the OC and the before and after CRA reports to the FTC . It will be interesting to see how they justified verifing the erroneous information, that is if the FTC accepts the complaint.
Keep in mind the FTC may only log the complaint, and forward it to the CRA. But they do follow up on a sampling of the complaints they forward, and report to Congress on the results periodically. Such disputes probably land on the desk of someone whose job is to make regulatory problems go away, instead of someone whose job is to make the consumer stop bothering them.
