Confused...anyone?

    Okay, I have an acct with Best Buy that at one time I had gone 90 days late on due to moving and lack of organization(if I had only known)....In anycase it looks like this on my cr.


    HB/BESTBUY
    Account Number: 700169110008.... / Date Opened: 10/2000
    Status: Collection account/Current, was past due 90 days.


    My question is, I get statements from them(HB) every month with interest accruing, which I was paying up until now. Because Im also receiving letters and phone calls from a separate collection agency on the same debt.

    What is the best route to take on this one..when I call Best Buy they tell me that my acct is being handled by...."collection agency ph#.."

    I can pay this off, but I want it removed from my CR, who do I talk to? OC or CA? Confused...thanks for any advice.

    I would call that CA number, get their address and then I would send a validation request to the CA handling the account, and then play the dispute game with the CRA's and see if you can get it reduced.

    • Now you got me confused ... you make the payments they want in their statements, but they have sent your account to a CA?
