Some members have recently brought up a good point. Since we all know this board is watched, and i've personally seen alot of newbies coming on board lately and starting crap (not that i have anything against legitmate newbies). I think maybe just maybe this could be collection employees coming on to stir things up and take the focus off credit repair....just I thought.......

Maybe we could get Verisign to establish a key exchange for CreditNet users so we all "know" that we are legitimate posters :))

Trusted Posters ... wow now that is a way out concept :))

    Hi,

This is so sad, because now some people who truly have good ideas and advice will stop posting because they are afraid collection agencies and their employees willl be getting good advice here to use against our members :(

    jrjr,

Actually, this happens from time to time. There really is no way around it. If someone is saying something that doesn't ring true, or shows an expressive "troll" attitude be cautious. Really it is a judgement call. Most of us know the typical Credinet story and if the person is sincere sounding. The majority of people who come here really want help and to learn, then there are those who just want help and don't care about learning, and then there are the few that don't want anyone to learn or help. After 20-30 posts you can basically guess where a poster is going to fit in.
And as I said in a previous post, 99% of the people on here are good and have no desire to start trouble. The other 1% are usually quickly found out and then we have them banished. I would prefer the firing squad, myself, but no one else likes that idea. ;)

    Naaaaaah

There are WAAAAAY too many long term old timers here, to let a few "plants" have a negative influence to our wonderful family here (if in fact that is what they are... I am NOT jumping to any conclusions, in fact I like to believe they are not plants in any way).

What ALWAYS happens is this stuff fades away and rather quickly.

If one or 2 "planted" posters could bring down creditnet or affect the positive aspects of this board, they would have done it many times over and long ago.

Relax people...just like dissentary...this too shall pass.

Thanks for the heads up dani. It's just that I've been out here since nov 2001, and the only people i've seen cause this much trouble have been, Bill Bauer, Bkev, and the "haggy hag" PSU Girl...but all of those people were here for awhile...just strange all the newer people posting all the sudden. But I certainly welcome any legit people to the board.

    jrjr,

The larger the board grows the more suspectible this board becomes to trolls and troublemakers. CRAs, CAs, and OCs do not want informed consumers. We make them abide by the law and are naturally, considered a threat. I can't wait until we become big enough that we start our own consumer credit lobbying on Capitol Hill. This is how revolutions get started. :)

Ahh. With all the pretty blooming flowers, there all always a couple weeds that ruin the effect.

One difference I have noticed between a true new bee and this other type poster is a true newbie doesn't know to make the kind of statements the other type makes.

Credit repair cannot happen because of the Constitution. It's illegal. So, don't even try it.

    Just kidding.

I guess I would be considered a "pseudo-newbie." I posted regularly here about a year ago and even stopped lurking for a while.

If some of these folks are indeed "plants," maybe their motive is to discourage anyone from protecting their legal rights. That way, the CA's can continue to trample on people just like they always have.

Been away from Creditnet and the Country for a Month and I thought I was going crazy when I looked at Creditnet. It looks like MSN money central now!!!

I have to admit I use to hate all the buddy buddy conversation that use to go on here. Now I don't even see that. Just a bunch of Junk Postings.

I've been on Creditnet for about 2 years nows and watched alot of people repair there credit then move on. Who can blame them. Whoever the Trolls are they are taking away from the site tremendously. Maybe PBM needs some of us to help "Moderate" the board.

You can call me a newbie but what I really hate to see is people calling each other names and being disrespectful toward each other. That's when it gets upsetting. Since I've been coming here it seems like most people just want to help each other. Every poster should remember that the answers given are usually based on someone's experience and that each situation may have its own nuances and that the outcome may be different each time.
It gets weird is when people don't respect others opinions and act nastily towards them. I think the board should be able to tolerate a diversity of opinions regarding any single situation. After all, this is really an advice forum.
Now don't jump on me for having said this!
